Tropical Fuzz – YUR MUM

£18.00

Brand new album Tropical Fuzz from Yur Mum

Released on Chapter 22 Records

Who needs a guitar anyway?  Yur Mum make plenty of beautiful noise without one. Tropical Fuzz is a sludge rock fans dream. Pounding rhythms and fearsome beats are complimented by Anelise Kunz’s powerful and emotive vocal. It’s her voice on Black Rainbow that really makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. There’s something primal about this hard hitting duo but on this song in particular that feeling is magnified. It’s as if they’ve tapped into the very source of music and released it as a feral sonic beast. It’s a magical moment in what is a fine body of work. Elsewhere Fabio Couto hits hard and precisely on the drums. Tropical Fuzz shows why he’s so highly regarded on the music circuit. His work here is perfectly understated with flourishes that add just enough garnish to show off his talent. Kunz’s bass work combines with her sticksman husband perfectly. You can hear little elements that are Sabbath at their doomy best, L7 at their most punchy and even a slice of Clutch in the mix too. Yur Mum have carved out a niche all of their own with the way they tune and play their instruments. This album displays that perfectly. Go and buy it now, pour yourself a nice Pina Colada and let the music melt your ears.

Limited Edition 180g colour vinyl cut in Abbey Road Studios
